Story

Highmoor Playing Fields Pavilion and Car Park Improvements

Ribble Valley Community Sports Trust are working in partnership with Clitheroe Wolves to restore the pavilion building and improve car parking provision at Highmoor Playing Fields, Clitheroe.

A significant amount of progress has already been made. The pavilion has been completely reroofed, the car park improvements completed, new outbuildings constructed, and huge progress made with the pavilion refurb.

Much of what has been achieved to date could not have been done without the efforts of Ross Hibbert, Neil Hitchin, Martin Aspinwall, George Hibbert and the army of volunteers that have been helping drive the project forward day and night since the end of last season. Their efforts have been nothing short of herculean and we thank them for all of their efforts.

We would also like to thank all those that have organised or been involved in the varied activities that have gone on over the past few months to help raise the money needed to pay for all of the materials, skills and equipment to deliver the project. The efforts of every single person who has been involved with the fundraising efforts are much appreciated. We really couldnt do this without you.

We must also pay thanks to all those that have supported the project financially through sponsorship, grants and donations (financial and in kind). We have received an unbelievable amount of support with around £90,000 raised so far!

Special thanks go to:

- Simon Dawson

- The Lancaster Foundation

- The National Lottery (Awards for All)

- Tesco (Bags of Help)

- Ribble Valley Borough Council (Culture and Recreation Grants)

- Johnson Matthey

- Hansons

- Aighton, Bailey and Chaigley Education Charity

- Clitheroe Round Table

- Waddington Masonic Lodge

- Tarmac

- Finch Aggregates

- Prefix

We're working hard continuing to apply for grants and seeking other sources of financial support for the project and hope to secure further funding shortly. However, we still need your help and support to finish the internal restoration and to get the pavilion reopened for use.

Every penny and every pledge we get helps us get closer to the goal of making this facility as great as the town and its people deserves. Your donations will help us all get there so please spare 5 minutes and pledge today!
