# Aim High Hobby Horse Race – Racing for Laughs, Riding for a Reason 🏇💚
## What on earth are we doing?
Somewhere along the way, somebody at Ailsa’s Aim thought:
> “Wouldn’t it be funny if we got a load of adults and children to race around on hobby horses?”
And instead of somebody sensible stopping us… everyone started signing up. 😂
The Aim High Hobby Horse Race is now officially happening at Aim High Festival on Saturday 19th September 2026 in Higham Ferrers.
We already have an increasingly ridiculous stable of horses including Snowstorm, Hornycorn, My Horse Nitwit, 50 Shades of Neigh, Gallop and Pony Baloney – with businesses, adults and children all joining the madness.
There are mystery jockeys, unnamed horses, businesses holding actual horse trials and an alarming amount of competitive spirit appearing.
And we LOVE it.
## But behind the silliness is something incredibly important 💚
Every penny raised through this campaign will support Ailsa’s Aim.
Ailsa’s Aim supports people affected by cancer and families with babies in neonatal care, providing practical support at some of the hardest moments of their lives.
Aim High Festival was created with the same belief that drives everything we do – community should be accessible to everyone.
That is why Aim High is a huge FREE community music festival.
No expensive ticket needed.
No family should have to decide they cannot attend because money is tight.
We want thousands of people to come together for music, entertainment, activities, inclusion, laughter and community.
And if watching a group of people galloping around Higham Ferrers on hobby horses helps us raise money to make that happen… then saddle up. 😂
## Ailsa is racing too 🌟
Ailsa herself has joined the starting line with her horse, Gallop.
She is the inspiration behind Ailsa’s Aim and the muse behind so much of what we do, so naturally she wanted to get involved too.
> “If we’re going to look ridiculous, we may as well raise as much money as possible while we’re doing it.”
