The Hotline gave me hope again for a better life and I'm going to start today.
The first step on the journey away from relationship abuse is towards hope. At the National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline), we provide compassion. We provide connections to critical resources. We provide validation and a path to greater safety. But first, we provide every caller with hope.
Whether we realize it or not, we all know someone affected by abuse. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe physical violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime, and countless more experience emotional, sexual, digital or financial abuse. Every year hundreds of thousands of survivors reach out to The Hotline for support, and contact volume has increased by 46% since 2015.
That's why The Hotline is bringing together donors from across the country to stand with survivors, change the conversation about domestic violence, and fuel this transformative work. In 25 years, we've answered more than 5.6 million calls, chats, and texts. Every story shared by a survivor is an act of courage, and we must show them they're not alone.
- Serve more survivors by increasing capacity to answer more calls, chats and texts.
- Expand our prevention platform, love is respect .
- Invest in technology to put more tools and resources in the hands of survivors who do not feel safe enough to reach out directly.
We invite you to join a community of donors who are keeping hope on the line.
