Only A Pavement Away’s purpose is to provide pathways out of homelessness and crime into purposeful employment within the hospitality industry. Over the next six years it is estimated that there will be around 1.3million vacancies in the hospitality industry. At the same time, the number of people who are facing or are at risk of becoming homeless, is rising.

We connect employers in the hospitality industry with charities working with people facing homelessness, prison leavers and vulnerable veterans to provide pathways out of homelessness into purposeful, long-term employment within the hospitality industry. We facilitate training & development and offer financial support to those who need it to overcome barriers to employment. The project is underpinned by a strong commercial & financial benefit to the hospitality industry whilst reducing the ever-increasing strain on government funding required to support those who find themselves in extreme and vulnerable circumstances.

Since launching in October 2018, we have laid a solid foundation to becoming recognised as the go to charity for the employment of those facing homelessness, prison leavers and vulnerable veterans into careers within the hospitality industry and forging connections in some of the key major cities across the country. We have over 110 hospitality businesses signed up to the programme alongside 220 charities all of whom have work ready candidates
