Surrey Search & Rescue is a voluntary specialist search team which assists the emergency services find missing vulnerable adults and children. We are on-call 24 hours a day, with a team of 80+ people and search dogs, to respond across Surrey and surrounding areas.

Help Fund Surrey SAR’s New Lifesaving ICU Vehicle 🚨

Every year, over 2,000 people go missing in Surrey. Many are vulnerable, children, those with dementia, or people in crisis. When every second counts, our dedicated volunteer search and rescue team needs the right tools, in the right place, at the right time.

Our current Incident Control Unit (ICU) has served us for over a decade. But it’s outdated, increasingly unreliable, and costing more and more to maintain. That’s why we urgently need your help to fund a new ICU vehicle, fully equipped to support the team as we search, coordinate, and save lives — day or night, rain or shine.

What We Need

We are fundraising £110,000 to cover:

🚐 A reliable, modern vehicle (or a donated one!).

🛠️ Full professional conversion into a mobile ICU.

⚡ Advanced communications, lighting, power, and search tools.

🧭 Onboard space for medical equipment, and team coordination.

Why It Matters

A new ICU will dramatically improve our ability to:

🟧 Plan and deploy our volunteers on searches faster and more safely.

🟧 Use advanced technologies for mapping, tracking and live comms.

🟧 Coordinate with other emergency services during a search.

🟧 Store and deliver medical equipment quickly to located people.

🟧 Provide warm and dry shelter for the missing person(s) and our volunteers during long searches.
