Visit the charity's profile787 participants, as part of a relay, cycled during the day and throughout the night from Saturday 1 May to Monday 3 May at BAPS Swaminarayan mandirs in London, Chigwell and Leicester. The aim was to cover 7,600 kilometres - the distance between London and Delhi - but they ended up almost tripling that by cycling 20,127 kilometres! All this was part of a campaign to raise vital funds for the life-saving relief work in India against the devastating coronavirus pandemic.

Thanks to the collective efforts of all our participants and supporters and BAPS's global network of temples and volunteers, 54 oxygen concentrators and other emergency medical equipment has already reached India!

This equipment will help BAPS continue to provide urgent critical care to Covid patients in the community and at its hospitals in Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara through the provision of life-saving treatment and oxygen.
We are also providing meals for patients and their families as well as medical staff and volunteers.

The situation in India remains dire and tragic with thousands dying daily as hospitals come under extreme pressure from shortages of oxygen and critical care beds. The funds raised by this campaign will go towards supporting BAPS's continuing relief work on the ground in India to combat the ongoing surge in infections and deaths from the coronavirus pandemic.
