I met Paje' (Shaman) Shetehu recently in Brazil and I was immediately struck by his humbleness and friendliness.
Then he told me how his home was destroyed by the floods and that he was living in a little space with just half of a roof. So I asked him why it only had half of a roof and he told me that that was because he could only afford half of it.
This is the reality indigenous people live in their day-to-day life in Brazil and on top of that they have to fight 24/7 to defend their land.
Shetehu also told me of his dream to have a distiller so he could make plant essences and I saw how important this machine is for him. The distiller costs around 8,656 Reais which is equivalent to £1,200.
He didn't mind living in a house with half of a roof, what he really really wanted was help for his community. He is asking us to help him build a space where he can do healing work for his people.
So here I am today, sharing with you his story. It is my deepest hope that this campaign will touch your heart and that Paje' Shetehu will be able to have his community space, his home, and his distiller this summer before the rainy season starts again. Your donation will cover £1200 for the Distiller, 2,000 for the community Healing space and £800 to re-build his home.
It is all possible because when each one of us donates a little bit that we each can afford, together we can make a big difference for Paje' Shetehu and for his whole village.
