Story

Please see information from Claudia below;

I met Paje' (Shaman) Shetehu recently in Brazil and I was immediately struck by his humbleness and friendliness.

He told me how his home was destroyed by the floods and that he was living in a little space with just half of a roof. So I asked him why it only had half of a roof and he told me that that was because he could only afford half of it.

This is the reality indigenous people live in their day-to-day life in Brazil and on top of that they have to fight 24/7 to defend their land.

Shetehu also told me of his dream to have a distiller to make plant essences and I saw how important this machine is for him.

He didn't mind living in a house with half of a roof, what he really really wanted was help for his community. So he is asking us to help him build a space where he can do healing work for his people.

So here I am today, sharing with you his story. It is my deepest hope that this campaign will touch your heart and you can help.

About the charity

The Community Foundation for Planetary Healing is a Scottish based volunteer-led charity created in 2003. We work with local volunteers helping people in Scotland who are struggling with their physical, emotional mental and spiritual health by offering holistic support and nature connected activities. We are also working in partnership with indigenous groups in Brazil helping to provide the support that they need to become more self-reliant with small scale farming creating food sovereignty and protecting the Amazon forest. Our approach is unique – we use the holistic ways inspired by indigenous ways of working in the community as tools for health and wellbeing promoting positive changes and empowerment for people. In this process, our volunteers are empowered too. Since 2003, for the last 17 years, we have been working locally creating sustainable health projects supporting people struggling with mental health, carers, people with cancer, children and young people. We actively train and support our volunteers within our organisation; we are proud to be a team of over 52 volunteers taking action towards equality, inclusion, health and wellbeing. Since our establishment, we have created, delivered and supported projects in Scotland, Brazil and recently in India.
