Jail or Bail is a new event for Maggie’s in South East Wales and we’re looking forward to putting 8 local business leaders and influencers who have been charged with outrageous fictitious crimes in cuffs and behind bars.
Our courageous 'jail birds' have been charged with crimes such as: Spending all wages on constant parking tickets, scheduling ‘meetings’ that are actually just an excuse to get a coffee, illegally imitating Jean Luc Picard of the Starship enterprise and relentlessly chasing candidates like a detective on a crime drama.
Representing organisations including St James Place, Recruitment Fox, Robertsons Solicitors and Sacyr the criminals have stood before Judge Eugene Egan and been found guilty. Bail has been set at a minimum of £1,000 and now the criminals have been sent down to contemplate their crimes and go about raising funds to pay their bail.
Having traded in their freedom for Maggie's the challenge they face is to muster all their powers of persuasion and call on the collective goodwill of their networks to raise funds for Maggie's in Cardiff. Their freedom and reputation depend on it!
Jail or Bail is set to be fun for everyone involved, but let's not forget the important reason behind the event: to raise funds for Maggie's.
For many people living in the South East Wales, Maggie's in Cardiff is a beacon of hope. Our centre offers a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people with cancer and everyone they love.
Maggie’s centres are places where people with cancer find the hope, determination, and resources they need to cope with one of the toughest challenges any of us is likely to have to face. Maggie’s in Cardiff is one of 24 Maggie's Centres across the UK providing support to anyone impacted by cancer.
The prisoners have until 3pm on Friday 21st of March to fundraise their way to freedom using their mobile phones, laptops and social media channels. Please note the pages will remain open for a short period after the event.
To help raise bail (make a donation) in support of your favourite convict, please visit their fundraising page - see 'Fundraisers', on RHS of this page (we also take donations to keep them in)!
Thank you for supporting Jail or Bail, your kindness and generosity will make an incredible difference to people with cancer.
