In March 2025, communities in Kisii County experienced a heartbreaking crisis when the local spring, once a vital source of water, became contaminated with fecal matter. The contamination resulted in more than 160 people becoming sick, including students at our Issues of Life Mission Center and School. Tragically, the crisis claimed the young life of one of our students. The loss has deeply affected our entire community, underscoring the urgent need for safe, clean water.

Without safe water, every sip becomes a dangerous risk to the health and wellbeing of our Kisii community. Families, and especially women and children, often walk for miles to collect water from contaminated rivers and ponds, leading to widespread waterborne diseases that severely impact health and development. These waterborne illnesses can quickly spread, causing children to fall behind in school, parents struggle to care for their families, and entire communities live under the shadow of preventable disease.

Issues of Life International Ministries is fully committed to confronting this urgent need for safe, clean water head-on. To address this critical challenge, we are launching a vital initiative to drill a new community well on the grounds of IOL Mission Center. This project is designed to change this current reality by installing a deep, dependable well with solar-powered pumps providing community access to clean, reliable water.
