WeSeeHope is a charity committed to creating sustainable change for vulnerable children in East Africa through education, child rights and economic empowerment initiatives.

Story

The 4th form at King's College School Wimbledon are taking on WeSeeHope's Social Entrepreneurs Project (SEP).

The students have been challenged to come up with a creative business idea in groups of 3-4 and have been given £10 of 'seed capital' each to put their idea into action. All the money they raise will support WeSeeHope's work with vulnerable children across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Take a look at their individual businesses and support them with their challenge!

WeSeeHope run community-led programmes across Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda in partnership with local organisations which increase access to education, improve the protection of children's rights, and economically empower homes and entire communities.

A key focus for the SEP is their Vocational Training Programme, which provides young people who have dropped out of school with on-the-job training in the likes of tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing and mechanics. Alongside this, they teach business and financial skills and provide graduates with start-up tool kits and materials so they can launch their own enterprise. The aim is that young people who are facing an uncertain and challenging future have the skills to earn a regular, safe and sustainable income, helping them to transform their livelihoods and open themselves up to new opportunities.

Thank you so much!
