Story

As you will know, the Covid-19 pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on charities and businesses of all sizes. All of our income streams have either slowed right down or have stopped completely, this includes cancelling fundraising events and closing all 21 retail outlets, which has caused a massive blow to our income.

Our Inpatient unit and community services still continue to operate although, due to staff shortages, we have had to adapt these services so we can still care for as many patients as possible and yet still maintain the safety of our patients and staff.

At this time it is extremely difficult for us to forecast the impact Covid-19 will have on our patients, staff, volunteers, services and finances. Clearly our patients are very vulnerable but so too are many of our volunteers, and some of our staff. Our concern is that people get through to the other side of this pandemic. Financially, even with the support being offered by the government, the hospice expects to lose well over £500k per quarter and so we need your help now, more than ever.

Katharine House Hospice is well loved and plays an important role within the community, so everyone involved is working hard to reduce the impact on the hospice and our patient care. It will be as a result of team work, the support of our community and wonderful grant givers that will enable us to come back from this.

Thank you all so much for your continued support.
