It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

In January 2027, an intrepid team of 45 put together by Carter the Brave will be climbing Kilimanjaro! The distance, height, altitude & changing seasons will be the big challenge!

It is the next chapter in a long series of events organised by Carter the Brave spanning across 10 years & totalling over £650,000! Carter the Brave was set up when Carter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at the age of only 4 years old. Carter is now in remission but many children’s journeys are still ongoing. It is CTB's sole mission to make this journey easier for other people's Carters. It is also CTB's ethos that every single penny raised goes directly to BCH so all funds raised by the 45 Trekkers will go directly to making a difference for these children.

Since 2016 Carter the Brave has made a huge impact with highlights being the Handsfree Vocera system, 3 x IV Vein Finders, 1700 Amazon vouchers, 7 revolutionary GameStations, £107,000 to the CTB Fellowship Research Fund resulting in groundbreaking research, 2 Chemo CADD Pumps allowing children to stay at home more & more recently 2 Mouth Ulcer Treatment Machines & Anti Coagulation machines to reduce the pain for children and also reducing their hospital visits.

More recently, Carter the Brave has contributed substantially to the new BCH entrance, the onsite Medicinema and funded 3 separate research projects. CTB have also purchased an ultrasound venous machine and the CT Intervention kit, which will simplify & lead to more successful tumour diagnoses.

Everyone is getting ready for this EPIC Climb to the SUMMIT of Kilimanjaro but is KILIMANJARO ready for the AMAZING Team Carter?!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported & continues to support our quest to help these children.
