Story

Kim Lathaen, who lives near Bala, had planned to do a sponsored walk up Snowdon to raise funds for The League of Friends, but didn't feel it was a viable option due to the pandemic.

Instead, she's making use of her lockdown hair and is having it all taken off in a sponsored capacity. Five years ago Kim did the same for Macmillan as part of their 'Brave the Shave' campaign, where an alleged friend gave her a reverse Mohican necessitating a full crew cut! This time she says to go that short will depend on how much she can raise for the benefit of RJAH.

Kim's hair is now sitting past her shoulders, like many who couldn't get a hairdressers appointment during lockdown. Despite being desperate to take matters into her own hands she made the decision to keep growing it in order to do this sponsored clip.

The event will take place on Bala High Street outside Cocoa Bala chocolate shop at noon on June 3rd, 2021.

RJAH is close to Kim's heart, as treatment she has received at the hospital has given her better mobility and the inclination to take on new challenges.

Fundraising has been difficult throughout the pandemic so your support is greatly appreciated. Any donation, large or small will make a huge difference.
