Story
The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) was built on the notion that when you combine science, knowledge, and passion, anyone can change the world.
The Union was founded 100 years ago at a time when there was no vaccine, no diagnostic tools and no cure for tuberculosis (TB). Since then, The Union has been at the forefront of the fight against TB and lung disease, developing revolutionary approaches to treatment and taking an active role in driving forward change in health systems globally, through strengthening service delivery, and also engaging with decision makers to push policy and legislation.
The Union's work is guided by a principle we like to call KNOW - SHARE - ACT: If we provide you with ground-breaking science, and you share that new knowledge, you will be actively contributing to driving global action.
In recent years, our focus has continued to evolve and adapt to ever-changing needs within the communities we serve. This has included new initiatives for combating child TB, helping people with both diabetes mellitus and TB, TB diabetes, the launch of a Global TB Caucus with MPs from around the world, hosting the first ever Survivors Summit for people with lived experiences with TB and other lung diseases, and most recently the introduction of a webinar series featuring the most up-to-date news and science around COVID-19.
By becoming a donor, you will be helping to ensure that The Union can continue to provide the latest breaking science in the most pressing areas of lung health and always be ready to take action in the face of global pandemics.
