Story

Why We’re Running the 2024 Santa Dash

This year, the Liverpool Bereavement Service team is lacing up our Santa boots and hitting the streets of Liverpool for the 2024 Santa Dash. Why? Because we believe no one should face grief alone.

Grief affects everyone, whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a life-altering separation, or the pain of miscarriage or child loss. It’s overwhelming, unpredictable, and can leave people feeling lost and isolated. But that’s where Liverpool Bereavement Service (LBS) comes in. Since 1998, we’ve been dedicated to supporting individuals and families through their toughest moments, offering them a safe, compassionate space to express their emotions and begin to heal.

What Your Donations Do

Your donations go directly toward providing vital 1:1 counselling and support services to both adults and children who are struggling with loss. Whether it’s a parent trying to cope with the death of a child, or a young person grieving a loved one, your generosity makes a real, tangible difference.

Our specialized service, Oakleaf, is dedicated to supporting children and young people up to age 25. Through creative therapies like play and art, we help them find healthy ways to express their grief and regain hope for the future. Your support helps us continue providing these critical services to those who need it most.

Who We Are

We’re more than just a bereavement service — we’re a lifeline for those navigating grief. With over two decades of experience, Liverpool Bereavement Service has supported thousands of individuals in the Liverpool City Region. Our dedicated team of qualified counsellors works tirelessly to create a space where people of all ages can feel understood, supported, and not judged.

But we can’t do this alone. We rely on donations to keep our services accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. That’s why we’re running the Santa Dash — to raise the funds we need to continue helping those who need us.
