Story

Our multi-award winning Butterfly Volunteers Service relies on specially trained volunteers to provide companionship for end-of-life patients.

Without the Butterfly project, 15-20 patients were dying alone at the Lister each month and others were alone when waiting for relatives to arrive.

Last year our Butterflies sat with an incredible 650 patients, demonstrating the immeasurable impact this service has.

In order to keep the project running we must raise £25,000 each year, to allow us to provide appropriate management and support for our 30 volunteers.

Each year we:

- Make over 2,000 visits

- Provide over 1,000 hours of emotional support

- Increase our volunteer base.

If you would like to support the butterfly service please donate or fundraise on this page or contact the charity team on charity.enh-tr@nhs.net or call 01438 285182
