The Canoe Challenge planned for August 2020 has had to be postponed due to Coronavirus until August 2021.

The funds raised from this event are desperately needed in order the build the top two floors of the new Primary School in Mombasa, which will take more than 300 more children off the streets and into education.

Right now, the school consists of a four classroom, stone-built kindergarten and then 7 years of primary children being educated in rented rooms built as a dwelling space that just about serve as classrooms.

Phase 1 of the new-build primary school is now complete and provides 3 large classrooms, a small school office, a small kitchen and at last separate washrooms and toilets for boys and girls. This will enable 100 children to benefit from a purpose-built school. The school also has disabled access and disabled toilet facilities.

That's purpose built for Kenya. That's basic by UK standards but its a huge step forward.

Phase 2 will provide a further 7 classrooms, including a custom-built IT room. This will provide good educational space for a further 200 children. It will also include a health centre, so the children wont have to rely on the extremely basic, almost non-existent government health care.

What we need right now

Its vital we secure the basic day to day education for all the children. We currently have over 100 children who are not supported by a sponsor and it's important we put this basic help in place for every child. All it costs is just £10 per month to give education and two meals a day to a child at Little Faces.
