Story
Captain Tom eat your heart out, here comes Dave Morton. I'd signed up to do a two day canoe challenge for the Little Faces charity until a Chinese bat intervened, the world changed and the event was cancelled.
So I decided it was just as hard, if not harder, to spend the same time on my rowing machine and help to give these poor kids a chance in life. Every charity has been hard hit for fundraising right now. But Little Faces have still been feeding the kids' parents as well, plus the kids from another local school during the pandemic, to stop them from starving.
Little Faces give an education in English to over 300 kindergarten and primary kids in one of the most deprived areas in Mombasa, Kenya. Without this school most of them otherwise face up to 100 children per class in a state school and abject poverty when they leave.
I have been training, probably not enough, and as you know I'm not a spring chicken. Eight hours on a rowing machine over two days on 15 and 16 August will be visible on Facebook Live or something similar, if you want to see me suffer, or even encourage me. But it's a great cause so it will be well worth it. I'd love you to help me with a donation please.
