Story

My name is Gerard, and I am a recovering alcoholic. My journey into sobriety started over 20 years ago when I started to attend AA meetings...

My sobriety lasted 10 years until I relapsed and caused me to step away from aa for 8 years. In that time, I lost everything that I had built up, my job, my home, my family and finally, my sanity.

Just over a year ago j encountered MADM in an effort to try and get myself out of the hole I had created for myself. I started volunteering 2 days a week on the van making deliveries and collections. Although this was a very troubling time for me being active as well as the thought that I may be helping others gave me some hope.

MADM gave me an AIM AND PURPOSE in my life and was the catalyst to return to aa and sobriety . I have now been sober for 13 months and I am now employed full time by MADM. I can honestly say I don't know what would have happened to me if MADM didn't exist, it has given back everything that is valuable to me ....peace of mind, stability and happiness.
