For more than 30 years, Mill Lane Garden Centre has been a place where people and plants can grow. It supports people with a learning disability to develop horticultural and workplace skills, build confidence and move towards employment, while welcoming customers and the wider community. Today, 18 trainees benefit each week from the opportunities available at Mill Lane, with around 22,500 hours of training provided each year.

The building has served the community far beyond its original expected lifespan, but it now urgently needs care and investment.

Our plans for a brand new building have changed but our ambition hasn't. Through Make Over Mill Lane, we plan to repair and refurbish the existing building while protecting its much-loved character. Improvements will include updating the green roof, replacing and improving the decking, refreshing the outside courtyard and developing a coffee house café—creating a safer, more accessible and welcoming destination for everyone who learns, works and visits.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help secure Mill Lane Garden Centre’s future. Your support will enable more people with a learning disability to learn new skills, gain valuable experience and play an active part in their community. Together, we can give this special place the next chapter it deserves and ensure its story is far from finished.

In the unlikely event we raise more than is needed for the Make Over Mill Lane, then any surplus funds will be used to benefit the people we support across Unity Works Social Enterprises.
