All money raised will go directly to our chosen Bournemouth charity, Truth be Told . They are an intergenerational charity who bring joy and companionship to older people in care homes in the local area. All funds raised on the day will be matched by the McCarthy Stone Foundation. The money raised will help Truth be Told to set up more local groups, bringing together pre-school children and older people. See a short video from Truth be Told here: https://vimeo.com/800577293
Join us to the left of Bournemouth Pier, around 150 meters along the promenade at our Beach Hut, where you can securely leave belongings/change/warm up! Arrival is 12:30 pm, and it is about 15 minutes walk from Head office, so you can be in and back on your lunch break! Map to the beach hut is attached
IT'S NOT JUST FOR WOMEN!
ALL are welcome colleagues, homeowners, families, partners, suppliers and friends please get people involved and help us raise money, and celebrate International Women's Day, where we celebrate women's achievements and raise awareness about discrimination.
There's no pressure to get in the sea, please do come along to support and cheer our swimmers. We will also be asking people to bake or donate cakes and goodies. Get involved in any way that youd like to!
Cold water swimming, especially in the sea has huge health benefits both physically and mentally if you haven't tried it before do give it a go!
However, the average sea temperature in Bournemouth in March is around 8 degrees, so please make sure that you read up on safety advice before jumping in. Bring plenty of warm clothes for after, and don't stay in too long!
There will be hot drinks and cakes provided to help you warm up afterwards!
More advice and tips will be provided nearer the time - with an idea what the weather will be!
