Story
This Sahara Trek is more than an endurance challenge. It is a journey of solidarity with the communities supported by Memusi Foundation — children who walk miles every day for an education, families who live with scarcity but hold on to hope, and communities where resilience is not a choice, but a necessity.
As we walk across the desert, blistered and tired, we are reminded that discomfort can be temporary — but opportunity can be life-changing.
Each step we take helps fund education, healthcare, food programmes, and community-led projects in Kenya. It helps a child sit in a classroom instead of worrying about hunger. It helps a young person believe that their future can be different. It helps families move from survival to stability.
In the Sahara, you learn quickly that you cannot do this alone. You rely on the person beside you. You share water. You share encouragement. You keep going — together. And that is exactly what Memusi is about: community, dignity, and walking alongside people rather than ahead of them.
This trek is a reminder that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they choose to step forward.
We walk so others don’t have to walk alone.
We trek so children can learn, dream, and thrive.
We cross the desert so hope can travel further.
