Story
In March next year I'll be pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and taking part in a 100km trek across the Sahara Desert to raise money for The Memusi Foundation!
As many of you know, I've supported Memusi for many years now. I've volunteered at Memusi School in Kenya twice, fundraised to build a new toilet block at the school and John and I currently sponsor two children, Karei and Anita. I'm passionate about Memusi's mission to give children the opportunity to escape poverty through quality education. I've seen first hand the amazing work they do and the real impact that it has, not just on the students, but on the whole community. I'm grateful for my education and the opportunities it has given me and want to help ensure all children, no matter where they're born, are given the best start in life.
The 5 day trek covers 100km, passing through Morocco's forbidding landscape, with peaks, gorges dunes and oases. At night we will be camping under the stars in shared tents. I'm sure many of you will know that this part will be almost as challenging as the hiking for me!
The trek is organised by Charity Challenge, who promise it will be challenging, unforgiving and life-changing. I hope that the money I raise through my JustGiving page will help change lives for more children and their families. All money donated will go directly to Memusi to support their amazing work!
