Story
On Saturday 4th July, our team from Midland Langar Seva Society will be taking on the Tough Mudder challenge at Belvoir Castle — a demanding 15km course with over 20 obstacles designed to test strength, resilience and teamwork.
We’re putting ourselves through mud, ice, climbing walls and endurance obstacles to raise vital funds for the work we do in our communities.
Why We’re Doing This
Midland Langar Seva Society is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals and families by providing free, accessible services that remove barriers to participation. Everything we do is about ensuring people can access support without having to pay.
Supporting Young People
Our youth programmes support children and young people facing serious challenges including:
• knife crime and gang culture
• grooming and sexual exploitation
• poverty and social deprivation
Through our youth club we provide a safe and welcoming space where young people can feel supported and heard. They have access to:
• a confidential support environment where they can talk openly
• a music studio to express themselves creatively
• a gym and boxing sessions to build confidence, discipline and wellbeing
For many young people, this is a safe alternative to the risks they face outside.
Supporting Older Women
Our Over 60s women’s project supports women who may experience isolation and loneliness. Through this programme participants can access:
• wellbeing workshops
• social activities
• day trips and outings
• a welcoming community where friendships can grow
This project helps improve mental wellbeing, connection and quality of life.
Supporting Children During School Holidays
During the school holidays, many vulnerable children lose access to free school meals. Our holiday playschemes ensure these children still receive support through:
• nutritious meals
• educational activities
• trips and days out
• fun and enriching experiences
These programmes provide safe, structured environments when children need them most.
Our Mobile Soup Kitchen
One of our largest operations is our Street Feed programme, a mobile soup kitchen serving multiple towns and cities across the UK.
Through this initiative, anyone in need can access a hot, nutritious meal multiple times each week, along with compassion and dignity.
For many people experiencing hardship, this service can be a lifeline.
How Your Support Helps
Every donation helps us continue providing these essential services free of charge to the people who need them most.
By supporting our Tough Mudder challenge, you will be helping us:
• keep young people safe and supported
• reduce isolation among older women
• feed vulnerable children during school holidays
• provide hot meals to people in need across the UK
