Join us!
On Saturday 21st March, 9:30am - 4pm, we will be hosting a Danceathon on Winchester High Street. We would love for you to join us for a boogie by the Buttercross Monument (SO23 9AH), for a day of music, movement, and community celebration for all ages and abilities.
Last year, we launched our first-ever all-day Danceathon on Winchester High Street to spread some cheer and raise vital funds for Move Momentum’s classes. The event was a resounding success, bringing the joy of dance to the heart of the city. Seeing the smiles on shoppers' faces and watching so many members of the public showing off their moves made it an easy decision: we had to bring it back.

You can donate through this page but we will also be accepting cash and card donations at the event. We have a lot of students, staff and volunteers joining us on the day to be sponsored, so please show them all your support!

Who are we?
Move Momentum is a local charity based in Winchester that aims to make dance accessible to everyone. We provide weekly dance classes for older adults, people with disabilities and people with long-term health conditions.
We believe that dance is for everyone. We strive to make this a reality.
For our participants, it’s about so much more than just a dance class; it’s about access to a supportive network and a community where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and we’re determined to keep it going!

Why we need your help?
This has been a year of significant financial pressure. We understand that everyone is navigating tough times due to the cost-of-living crisis, which is exactly why inclusive, affordable services like ours are needed now more than ever. The demand for our classes continues to rise, yet funding is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, leaving small charities like ours struggling to keep up with the growing need in our community.
While we have worked tirelessly to stabilise the charity by restructuring our team and improving efficiency, we are not "out of the woods" yet. We have successfully slowed the growth of our funding deficit, but we have not yet eliminated it.
Current funding gaps have already forced us to postpone new classes for people with long-term health conditions and for people with visual impairments. To ensure our survival and keep our core classes running, we need your help.
Thank you for cheering us on and being part of our community — we couldn’t do this without you!
