Story

**EDIT due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)**

Why not support your local Hospice at this time, by taking part in our adapted Virtual Moonlight and Memories Walk?

Sadly, due to the Government guidelines surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and implementation of social distancing, we have had to take the decision to cancel the event in its current format.

However, we will be asking our supporters to take part in our very first virtual Moonlight and Memories Walk. Keeping in mind social distancing, the walk can take place in your house and garden, or be completed as part of your daily exercise allowance, or even broken down into more manageable distances to suit your current routines why not get creative with your 12,500 steps (the equivalent number of steps it takes to walk 10k)? Everyone who takes part and raises sponsorship money for St Michaels Hospice, will receive an event exclusive Moonlight and Memories 2020 t-shirt after the event. We will be creating a virtual wall of memories on a dedicated Facebook page.

Why not set up a JustGiving page to generate sponsorship online from your friends, family and colleagues. If you can continue to raise sponsorship for the Hospice at this time, it will be very greatly received and help us to mitigate the financial loss we are facing. Please use this campaign page to set up your page, as it connects everyone taking part in The Moonlight and Memories Walk together.

So why not set up a page now and get fundraising?

****************************************************************************************

St Michael's Hospice Moonlight and Memories Walk, kindly sponsored by Arthur C. Towner Ltd and The White Rock Hotel, is a 10k coastal walk by the light of a full moon, from The White Rock Hotel along to Galley Hill and back again, and is a fun event for all the family to take part in.*

Write memories of your loved ones on a ribbon (provided by the Hospice) and tie it to our 'memory wall' as a dedication to them. The ribbons will then stay on the 'memory wall' for one month.

Water and snacks are provided at the half way point and a lovely post walk supper is available for you to enjoy after the walk at The White Rock Hotel.

Please note when the walk starts is in your walk instructions, as well as timings for registration and t shirt creation station opening times - all walkers must register on the night and sign themselves back in at the end of the walk, so we can confirm everyone has returned safely.

There is a warm up in front of the pier.

Fundraising for this event is highly recommended. if every person taking part could raise just £55 in sponsorship it would help us meet our fundraising target of £15,000 for this event. In order to help you achieve the minimum sponsorship target each participant will receive a fundraising pack and sponsorship form.

*Under 16's must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Dogs are more than welcome. This is a family friendly event and The White Rock Hotel is also a dog friendly venue. Please do keep dogs on a lead at all times.

We provide high quality, responsive palliative care and bereavement support across Hastings and Rother and work collaboratively with others to improve end of life care for all.
