Leave your comfort zone behind and fight for mental health. As the pandemic puts people under pressure like never before, its time for a fundraising challenge that will push you to the limit.
Story
The severity of the pandemic's impact on mental health has increased, nearly 1/3 of adults and over 1/3 of young people with mental health problems said their mental health has got much worse since March 2020.
So I'm taking on a fearsome fundraising challenge - My Mission for Mind - alongside leaders from our amazing corporate partners to fight the urgent crisis in mental health.
My Mission for Mind can be whatever you want it to be as long as it isn't easy!
There is no vaccine for the impact the coronavirus is having on people's mental health and wellbeing. Mind can only respond by urgently generating more income. Our new strategy spells out exactly who is at greatest risk particularly young people, people from racialised communities and people in poverty. It shows exactly how we must respond. But meeting the level of need will require leaders stepping out of their comfort zone.
Just under 9 in 10 young people have said that loneliness has made their mental health worse during the pandemic. So it's time for us all to show how far well go for mental health!
At Mind our new strategy aims to enable:
- 350,000 people to get the support they need at their local Minds every year.
- 100,000 young people to get support that takes into account the trauma they've been through
- 18 million people to turn to Mind for information about mental health each year, so they can get help, stand up for their rights and live their lives to the full.
