The Covid-19 pandemic will have a devastating effect on our income this year and beyond, due to the cancellation of some of our fundraising events.
At a time when we've seen the number of people calling our Advice Line rise by 41%, the number of calls increase by 53% and a 42% surge in requests for financial support, #NABSNeedsYou more than ever, to ensure that we can continue to support everyone in our industry that needs us.
The London Marathon was due to take place on Sunday 26th April and NABS has lost out on valuable funds as a result of its cancellation alongside a predicted downturn in charitable donations, so were asking you to take part in the 2.6 Challenge in support of NABS, to help us to help our industry.
Its simple! Were asking the advertising and media community to take part in their own 2.6 Challenge for NABS between this Sunday 26th April and Friday 1st May and to donate and nominate to keep the fundraising relay going next week and raise as much money as possible.
The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like, your activity just needs to include the numbers 2 and 6 from running 2.6 miles to holding an online workout with 26 of your friends. Here are a few ideas:
- Run, walk or cycle 2.6 miles or for 26 minutes
- Run, walk or cycle 26 miles between 26th April and 1st May
- Plank for 2.6 minutes (thats 156 seconds!)
- Do 26 press ups, squats or burpees
- Do 26 minutes of yoga every day between 26th April and 1st May
or something completely different! Whatever your age or ability, you can take part. The only rule is that you challenge adheres to Government guidelines on daily exercise at this time.
Choose your challenge, complete your challenge, donate on our JustGiving page and share your pictures and videos of your challenge on social media using #NABSNeedsYou and #TwoPointSixChallenge to be part of the campaign.
The #TwoPointSixChallenge is your chance to be a stay at home hero and raise vital funds for NABS from your very own living room, bedroom, balcony or garden!
Nominate your colleagues and friends from across the industry to take part in the 2.6 Challenge for NABS. The more money you help us raise, the more people we can help through these challenging times and beyond.
