Story

AJ and his dad were sitting on the couch watching TV. It was a typical normal lazy day of lounging for the family, a time of relaxation for people to catch up and have a chat over a buzzing screen in the back ground. However that day wasn’t as normal as AJ may have hoped as in middle of their casual conversation AJ’s father suddenly collapsed before sliding onto the ground, his body still.

He had just suffered a cardiac arrest. This story is a common one that happens to thousands of families all over Nigeria and the UK.

Thankfully, AJ had recently attended a First Aid training organised by Naijaid and knew exactly what to do. He linked his fingers together and placed it on his father’s chest pumping rhythmically (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - CPR), his father started breathing again, before he was taken to the hospital.

If it weren’t for live saving CPR skills he had received, his father might not have survived. As over 60% in Nigerian and 36% in the U.K die as a result of suffering cardiac arrest at home.

In order to help more families like AJ please support Naijaid to continue to save more lives!!!
