Visit the charity's profileJumbulance Trust is a volunteer-led charity that makes accessible travel possible for adults and children who are disabled or have serious or complex health conditions. Our travellers have a range of life limiting impairments such as heart disease, neurological disease, cancer, arthritis, birth defects and learning difficulties. Each has one thing in common - holidays and trips have always been off limits.
Through 2 unique, medically equipped part coach / part ambulance vehicles called Jumbulances we enable those who are disabled or ill, to travel long and short distances in safety and comfort. Our clients tell us this is a trip of a lifetime that simply would not happen without our help.
Since it was established 2001, Jumbulance Trust has transformed the lives of over 7000 clients. Many of the people we help are lonely, isolated and live in permanent lock down; often with limited or no opportunity to leave their place of residence. They can be from deprived areas and cope every day with a disability or serious life limiting condition. No other means of affordable, suitable transport with appropriate care and medical support from volunteer helpers, doctors and nurses is available. Jumbulance gives precious lives a fully accessible, fun-filled holiday or day trip.
"This is no ordinary bus. It's a lifeline. We never thought we'd be able to take our son abroad. On the Jumbulance he could choose to sit in his wheelchair or relax in a bed. We could change him, do some stretches, feed him and do his long list of medications without worrying. There was suction and oxygen available .. We met with a handshake, we left with a hug. Recently, we have also been helping an NHS Trust in their Covid 19 multi patient transfer response. They were able to adapt our Jumbulance to their specification. It been great to do our bit, now we're asking for your help so we can continue to offer our passengers the chance to go on the Jumbulance.
It is widely expected that our clients may be amongst the last to be safe and free to live life to the full and we want to be there to support them with a fun filled, fantastic holiday of their dreams. We want to welcome smiling faces, happy day trippers and excited holiday makers back as soon as possible.
