WALKING THE CANALS OF ENGLAND AND WALES - Chesterfield Canal and the South Yorkshire Navigations via the River Trent - 100 miles, 7 days · 19 May 2023

Disabled & life limited people can feel isolated, living in permanent lockdown. Covid 19 makes this harder. Help us ensure we can transform precious lives with the trip of a lifetime on a new adapted, medically equipped Jumbulance coach/ambulance.

Story

May 20-27th I am walking to raise money for a new ambulance for the Jumbulance Trust, a volunteer-led charity that makes accessible travel possible for adults and children who are disabled or have serious or complex health conditions.

I can't imagine what it must be like to not be able to walk out of one's front door to walk, ride, run, swim, bike or whatever. So I will be walking 100 miles over 7 days along the Chesterfield Canal, the River Trent and the South Yorkshire Navigations, all in a part of England I do not know at all, to raise money in aid of this brilliant charity whose work must give so many people such pleasure.

Through two unique medically equipped part coach/part ambulance vehicles they enable those who are disabled or ill to travel long and short distances in safety and comfort. Their clients tell them they are trips of a lifetime that simply would not happen without the Charity's help.
