Challenge 1: (October 2021) Nicky's first ever Marathon. Paris Marathon (Completed 3hr 30min)

Challenge 2: (July 2022) 3 highest UK peaks in 24 hours(Completed 22 hours 45min)

Challenge 3: (August 2023) Aiming for a Top 3 finish in London(Olympic Distance) Relay Triathlon with super fundraisers Robyn Le Friec & Rich Owen(Completed 7th place finish)

Challenge 4: (November 2023) 14 hour non stop Ride on indoor Spin Bike at KXU(Completed 200 miles covered)

Challenge 5: (August 2024) Dorney Lake Relay Triathlon(Olympic Distance) with Robyn Le Friec and Rich Owen. (Completed. Finished 1st!)

Challenge 6: (March 2024- November 2024) Running 9 Marathons in 9 months back to back.(Completed 5 different countries)

Challenge 7: Olympic Tri(T100) July 26, Half Ironman(York) September 26, Full Ironman(Cascias) October 26...all pending

Nicky has also organised Fitness classes where the atmosphere has been electric and the donations generous. He has recruited awesome trainers in the industry to join for team teaches and bring the communities together. A huge thanks to these trainers for giving up their free time for the cause.

Vitality 10k, London Landmarks, Royal Parks Half-Marathon, London Marathon

WDEF is now a charity partner for the all of the big London races. We've had Runners run for us and raise thousands and thousands of pounds. All mentored by Nicky and a lot of them running distances for the first ever time. Thank you so much to all our super fundraisers!

Giftii's Fundraising dinners

Workneh's widow Aster Belay (known to her friends as Giftii) is a great cook and caterer, and she has organised wonderful dinners for supporters of the organisation.

Baking for the craft fair

Giftii and Siobhan Crawley, undertook a baking marathon to create a mouth-watering array of cakes to sell at the Crouch End Craft Market, on Saturday 8th June. They raised around £300 but just as important, they talked to customers about Workneh Dechasa Education Foundation and what we aim to do. We also entered the 21st Century by using a card reader to accept donations!
