Story
Minds in Action - a virtual challenge event taking place on the GoJoe app between 23 July to 6 August 2021.
Join the Nottinghamshire Mind Team and get moving!
KMs mean points (weighted by activity type to level the playing field). Whichever team gets the most-points, wins! It's free to take part and open to all and all excerise counts - walking, pushing, scooting, running, cycling or swimming!
The teams consist of:- Rutland Cycling, Mind BLMK, CPSL Mind, Northamptonshire Mind and Nottinghamshire Mind
Exercise on your own, but not alone. Use this challenge to take time to enjoy a bit of community/team spirit, to invest in your physical and mental wellbeing and to move with purpose and raise money/awareness for us.
Each team has a Captain and the challenge host and Captain of Rutland Cycling is Dani Rowe MBE - a three times cycling world champion and 2012 Olympic Gold Medallist. As well as taking part in the challenge, Dani and the other captains will be sharing their top tips and rallying all participants.
At Nottinghamshire Mind, we are incredibly lucky to have Lindsay Pitchford as our Team Captain. Lindsay has been a supporter of Nottinghamshire Mind for a number of years by both fundraising and sharing information about our support services. She is a brilliant motivator and is sure to keep us all moving and clocking up our kms!
GoJoe is about km-based activities, not steps. This is to encourage movement in the form of purposeful movement, rather than tracking steps from the sofa to the fridge. Every mile counts. It doesn't matter whether you're a dog walker or serious athlete - it's all about the team!
Check the app to see live updates throughout the event dates and share on social using #MindsInAction.
