We are proud of the support our volunteers give to our patients/staff at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT. Their support makes such a difference to the many people they are in contact with. From helping people find their way around the site, supporting patients on wards, (chatting, playing games or popping to the shop and at meal times, encouraging our patients to eat and drink helping their recovery). Our responder team who support the movement of medications across the trust when necessary. Our volunteer drivers who support patient’s to get in for appointments who might not otherwise and take patients home upon discharge who otherwise would need to wait for an ambulance. We also have our Home but not Alone team of volunteers who support the most vulnerable patients whilst in the trust and also as they settle back at home. We are also looking to develop our Volunteer End of Life support, helping families in a practical sense in times of their greatest need. Whilst delivering this service we are continually looking at new ways of supporting our volunteers to help more people within our community. Any support you can offer them will make a huge difference.
