I remember very clearly how encouraged and proud I felt when one of the young persons I was talking to told me they weren’t brave enough to seek professional help (for mental health) until talking to me, and that they appreciated my guidance. I'm happy to say that through sympathetic communication and suggesting practical solutions (e.g. seeking referrals from GP) that young person got the help they needed.”
