The Orthopaedic Institute Charity are proud to support the UK’s first dedicated veterans' orthopaedic centre at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry, Shropshire.
Lt Col Carl Meyer, a serving army officer is also a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at RJAH, providing the Veterans Orthopaedic Service. The service provides unique care for ex-service personnel from every military background, air, sea and land - regardless of their length of service and is now housed in the newly built Headley Court Veterans’ Centre. This is the first of its kind in the UK and the building of this dedicated centre is a huge step forward in terms of care provision for our country's veterans and military personnel. The facility provides individualised patient care in a centre that feels familiar and safe and addresses patient’s specific needs - physically, mentally and emotionally.
The aim is to establish a world-class veterans’ healthcare capability, a first within the NHS.
The Orthopaedic Institute Charity are pleased to support the Veterans’ Orthopaedic Centre at the RJAH Hospital. All funds raised by our amazing supporters will help us to provide the monies required to educate & retrain staff and research improved methods of care our Veterans’ so richly deserve.
