Story

I am running my 3rd marathon and I have chosen to support this amazing charity - The Orthopaedic Institute which helps support some amazing work at The Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Funds raised by you, our amazing supporter's will help fund the Veterans’ Orthopaedic Centre here at the RJAH hospital. Here is a brief description of how your participation will help make a difference;

The Orthopaedic Institute Charity proudly support the UK’s first dedicated veterans' orthopaedic centre at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry, Shropshire.

Lt Col Carl Meyer, a serving army officer is also a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at RJAH, providing the Veterans Orthopaedic Service. The service provides care for ex-service personnel from every military background, air, sea and land. This is the first of its kind in the UK, a huge step forward in care provision for our country's veterans and military personnel.

The aim is to establish a world-class veterans’ healthcare capability, a first within the NHS.

All funds raised will help us provide the monies required to educate & retrain staff and research improved methods of care our Veterans so richly deserve.
