Story
For almost 50 years, Off The Record has supported young people’s mental health to fulfil their potential for a brighter future. Our work aims to help young people, aged 11-25, achieve emotional health and wellbeing. We do this by providing youth work, group work, parent courses and support to young carers.
Established in 1977, OTR is a grassroots organisation, based in Leigh Park, Havant, and supports young people across South East Hampshire, including Havant, Waterlooville, Emsworth, Hayling Island, Bordon and Whitehill. Since 2011, we have been delivering services to young carers in Havant, offering weekly support clubs, respite activities, trips during the school holidays, one-to-one support, help with school/college work and advocacy for them with external agencies/professionals.
Through accessing OTR’s services, like one-to-one counselling, family counselling and effective courses on managing emotions, the young people we support not only realise a better future for themselves, but provide a better future for generations to come. By helping young people thrive, we are ultimately providing a better foundation for the young person’s ability to shape a better world. OTR builds emotional resilience, fosters creativity and increases confidence and bravery, so young people can generate positive social change. Consequently, we help strengthen society and improve lives.
