Story
When the call comes in, we don’t get to choose the terrain, the conditions or the distance. We simply go.
Along our coastline and across our region, people can find themselves seriously injured or critically ill in places that are difficult to reach beaches, clifftops, coastal paths and remote stretches far from immediate help. When every second matters, our helicopters and critical care teams are dispatched, flying into challenging conditions to reach those who need us most.
The Pier 2 Pier Walk will see participants taking on a demanding route along the North East coastline from Roker to South Shields Pier on Saturday 9th May, following the very paths and shores where our crews are so often called to respond.
Every step you take helps us stay ready for the next call.
We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of the general public, who believe that everyone deserves the best possible chance of survival, wherever they are.
By taking on this challenge, you help keep our helicopters in the air, our crews trained, and our lifesaving care available when it’s needed most.
With your support, we can continue to be there — from coast to countryside — when it matters most. 🚁
