Story
My sisters and I are lacing up our walking boots and heading for the coast for a challenge that will push us physically, but for a cause that makes every step count.
On Saturday 9th May, we'll be taking on the Pier 2 Pier Walk from Sunderland to South Shields Pier, following miles of shoreline and coastal paths.
Every step we take is for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
As I walk along the coast, we'll be thinking about the crews who are so often called to these very places, responding to serious injuries and medical emergencies on beaches, clifftops and remote coastal routes, where every second matters.
Our challenge lasts a day. The difference they make lasts a lifetime.
GNAAS receives no government funding and relies entirely on public donations. Any support, big or small, will help keep their helicopters flying and their crews ready to answer the next call. 🚁
