100 Tonnes Delivered — But Winter Is Here

The Brighton & Hove community is extraordinary. Almost every week, our dedicated volunteers pack hundreds of boxes filled with medical aid, warm clothing, pet food, and essential hygiene products.

To date, we have delivered over 100 tonnes of life-saving relief directly to displaced families and active conflict zones across Ukraine, including Kharkiv.

With massive damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the arriving winter brings a severe crisis. Without electricity, clinics cannot operate, heating points go cold, and families are left freezing. We urgently need to source and transport:

Generators: Basic units start around £300, while heavy-duty medical units cost significantly more.

Emergency warmth & survival gear: Hand warmers, thermal blankets, and water-purification kits.

The Lifeline We Must Protect

We do not spend public donations on executive salaries or marketing agencies. However, we face two critical, unavoidable expenses: rent for our storage and sorting facility and delivery costs.

Before we can test a generator or load a pallet of walking aid, we must receive, check, sort, and pack it. Our Brighton & Hove facility costs £900 every month. Without this space, our entire aid pipeline stops. We would have nowhere to stage equipment, receive local donations, or pack the vehicles that undertake the 2,500 km journey across Europe.

£1,500 covers the fuel, tolls, and freight costs to transport 1.5 tonnes of aid over 2,500 km from Brighton to Kharkiv (~60p/km).

£30 pays for one day of secure storage and hub operations.

£225 secures our packing facility for an entire week.
