Story

Light Project Peterborough and the Posh Foundation have been working together for a number of months now and have numerous brilliant projects either taking place or in the pipeline. One current particular initiative has been providing weekly football sessions for LPP’s guests and staff. This has had a positive impact already on the mental and physical health of those who have taken part.

Our next project together is Peterborough's Big Sleep Out. Taking place on Friday 8th March 2024, we are inviting the city to spend a night experiencing what those who sleep rough endure every night. Hopefully, this will encourage participants to empathise more with people who are homeless and funds raised will go to supporting these people. All funds raised will be split between both charities.

Steven Pettican (LPP CEO) said, “It’s wonderful to be working with Peterborough United and the Posh Foundation to bring together the city and raise vital funds to help those in desperate need within Peterborough. Gaining a small insight into what homelessness feels like will have a huge impact on people’s perception and attitude to those sleeping rough every night.”
