Our fundraiser event this year will be sponsored Chanting and Sun Salutations.

Participants can choose whether to get sponsorship for their chanting or their Sun Salutations ~ or both!

We are calling our afternoon ‘Pieces to Peace’ because as we chant and move together we will be focusing our energy and attention on peace as a possibility for all. We are asking everyone who has so generously sponsored us before to sponsor our Chanting and Sun Salutations ~ and we hope many of you will join us.

We are serious about peace and fund-raising ~ but we will also have fun while giving ourselves to the joy of offering peace as 2025 draws to a close.

This event offers an alternative to the many conflicts and divisions that are fragmenting the world and people’s lives today. Yoga’s ancient teachings confirm the power of chanting to encourage and energise inner and outer healing and wholeness ~ in ourselves, in families and communities, and throughout our environment.

Together we will be chanting the ancient Vedic hymn for peace ~ the beautiful Shanti Path Mantra that begins, “AUM dhyau śhāntir antarīkśhaḥ gvam / śhāntiḥ pṛthvi / shāntir apaḥ / śhāntir oṣodayaḥ …” (AUM Peace in light, space and sky; peace on the earth and peace in its waters; peace to its herbs, plants, trees, and shrubs…”).
