Story

Our fourth annual Pier2Peer is the major fundraiser for our charity, The WayfinderWoman Trust which supports vulnerable women to transform their lives.

And this is why we do what we do:

I knew deep down things weren’t right and having somewhere to explore what I was going through without them already knowing me felt like a judgement free zone and a safe space to talk. Right now I’m in a place where day by day isn’t so scary and I have a few goals to keep me focused that they are supporting me to achieve. I feel very lucky to have been able to access all that I have so far.

Will you help us do more? Eastbourne to Hastings Piers for our runners, walkers and cyclists is the equivalent of a half-marathon - a 25 k/15.5mile run.

For the less adventurous there's the 5k/2.5mile route from Eastbourne Pier to Sovereign Harbour, or return to the Pier to make it a 10k/5 mile run.

Starting underneath Eastbourne Pier, it’s a lovely route to Hastings that follows the prom until we hit the pebbles. As we’ve timed it for low tide you then descend to the sand until you reach Cooden Beach when you come back up to the road and then rejoin the prom to Bexhill and Hastings Pier.

EVERYONE is welcome, individuals, groups, teams. Everyone receives an environmentally friendly medal when they finish, either at Hastings Pier, Sovereign Harbour or Eastbourne Pier.

You will receive a full route map with details of refreshment kiosks and toilet stops along the way.

Pier2Pier is open to all ages.

As a charity we need to raise £10,000 a year to keep our drop-in centre open which is a safe space for women. We need to raise an additional £8,000 a year to provide the free workshops and peer support to women. Principally volunteer run and led we rely on grants and fundraising to keep it open.

We are grateful for your support and every £ raised will go towards the running of the drop-in centre. £10 would pay for coffee for one of our groups. £25 would pay for a place on a workshop to build confidence. £100 would pay for an hour’s coaching by a professional.
