Do you remember bedtime stories when we were kids?

Whether it was brave Judah Maccabee becoming the hero of Hanukkah or "Castle on Hester Street" the story of a Jewish immigrant family from Russia trying to make it in New York City, a Jewish story at bedtime became such an important part of our Jewish identity and culture.

Today, in the age of the smart phone and tablet, these stories are in danger of being lost.

Thankfully, your Federation offers the PJ Library book program, a free monthly program for families with children ages 0-8. Families will receive one Jewish-themed book a month and will make sure that bedtime is also a Jewish time.

Imagine a world where instead of our kids looking up tips and tricks for the latest online game, they're reading "26 Big Things Small HandsCan Do," a child's guide to mitzvahs and the importance of doing good deeds.

In the age of social media with emojis replacing words, the need for a Jewish story time has never been this important.

As of right now, there are 310 families receiving PJ Library books in Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties. Just as importantly, there are 80+ families currently on the waiting list to join the program.

A gift of $80 is the cost to fund one family's participation in the PJ Library program.
