2025 is the third year that Praetura Lending have chosen a specific charity to support throughout the year. This year’s charity (nominated by Praetura People) is Age UK, and we will be supporting Age UK Blackburn with Darwen and Age UK Cheshire with various fundraising and volunteering initiatives.

The Covid pandemic followed by the cost of living crisis has seen demand for the services of both Age UK Blackburn with Darwen and Age UK Cheshire increase dramatically at a time when their own costs are increasing and funding opportunities are reduced.

Praetura People saw for themselves the incredible work and support Age UK offer local older people when members of the team volunteered to help in their charity shops and at Christmas functions at the end of 2024. This led to the team wanting to increase that support by nominating them as Praetura’s charity of the year for 2025.

We will be taking part in a number of fundraising events and activities throughout the year, including 'Walking up the Big One' in Blackpool in the summer.

In addition to this, we will be offering our time to volunteer across their services to help them continue to make a difference to the lives of older people, and hope that this will lead to long-term volunteering opportunities for our team
