The Covid pandemic followed by the cost of living crisis has seen demand for the services of both Age UK Blackburn with Darwen and Age UK Cheshire increase dramatically at a time when their own costs are increasing and funding opportunities are reduced.

We have seen for ourselves the incredible work and support that they offer for local older people including those living with dementia and how they need to fundraise when we volunteered for a few weeks last year and want to support them further in 2025.

We will be planning a number of fundraising events and activities including 'Walking up the Big One' in Blackpool.

In addition we will be continuing to offer our time to volunteer across their services to help them to continue to make a difference to the lives of older people and hope that this will lead to longer volunteering opportunities for our team
