Story
Cornish Miles for Cornish Maternity Services
Lead Professional Midwife Advocate, Ailsa Gill is organising this BIG fundraiser. Ailsa, along with staff from the Maternity Unit, will walk different sections of the entire 276 miles of Cornish Southwest coastal path over 4 days! The money raised will go towards restarting the aromatherapy service.
“The money raised will mean that we can offer our staff the training and resources they need to provide an aromatherapy service for the birthing people of Cornwall. This service will complement the options already in place for our birthing people and we know it will be greatly welcomed by our service users. There is a lot of work to do to ensure the safety and training is in place which is why we want to raise money towards offering this service.
With your helpful donations, we will be spurred on to keep trekking along the coastal path to reach our target of covering the whole distance of the 276 miles from Bude to Rame.” Ailsa Gill.
The walk will take place over 4 days from Friday 6th September to Monday 9th September 2024, each member of staff will select the walk and day that suits them best. This will be no mean feat, putting one foot in front of the other to achieve this target of making sure no mile is left uncovered.
“We thank you again for supporting us achieve our goal of raising money by walking Cornish miles for Cornish Maternity Services, in aid of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity Maternity Fund.”
