Story
Being forced to halt services because of the coronavirus was a massive blow to us - whilst we have been working hard to continue supporting our service users remotely through our Facebook page, so much of what we do relies on our ability to work with people on the ground and respond directly to their needs, in person. We were determined that our time away from France would not be wasted and we have been busy planning how to make our operations in Calais and Dunkirk better and more effective than ever. We have some great new information packs, translated into 9 community languages that we're excited to distribute and we've launched a new multilingual website aimed specifically at providing information on UK and French asylum procedures, as well as services available on the ground.
However, restarting, especially in this uncertain funding climate, is also quite difficult.
We can't wait to get back to supporting people with the material things that they rely on us for and that's where we need your help. Your donations will go towards mobile phones, plugs, chargers, and PPE equipment. They will go towards petrol for our van and generators, our MOT and van maintenance, so that people can charge their devices and use our WiFi and our van can stay happy and healthy on the road.
While we have been away, the French government has been providing emergency accommodation for those who wish to use it, however, as the lockdown is easing in France, this accommodation is likely to be closed soon. We are therefore keen to get up and started as soon as possible.
Thanks for your support.
